What is Service-Learning?

Service-learning engages students in meaningful service to their schools and communities. Applying academic skills to solving real-world issues, linking established learning objectives with genuine needs, students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students lead the process with faculty coordinators and site supervisors addressing concerns such as hunger, homelessness, sustainability, and diversity.

According to scholars Eyler and Giles (1999), with the service-learning model "experience enhances understanding; understanding leads to more effective action." Your Service-Learning experience can pave the way to profound change in your life.
